Hiking Cusuco National Park in Honduras
Good afternoon Trail Climb Nation. I apologize for my delay in getting articles out to our readers. Within the last two weeks I have been busy getting my wife ready to go to her year long tour in Honduras. Since then I’ve been getting settled in while she is away. It has been a tough transition but today we look at hiking in the country she is in. It’s things like these that make me look forward to seeing her again soon and hopefully you can be inspired to explore a new country!
Honduras is known to be a very beautiful country. It is also known to be more dangerous so if you travel make sure you have a buddy. One thing I didn’t know is that Honduras has multiple National Parks. As expected you can find some great hiking and breath taking views in these parks. The park we will look at today is called Cusuco National Park.
Cusuco National park is known to be the lungs and water source for the nearby city of San Pedro Sula. Cusuco National Park is known to be quite difficult to access due to roads but once you get into the park prepare to be blown away. Cusuco National Park gives you breath taking views of the mountains in the distance. There are also several different animals you can see on a hike. However, it is recommended that you go early in the morning because this is when it will be the easiest to see. Also hidden in the park are a few waterfalls. Cusuco National Park has all the things I really enjoy seeing: mountains and waterfalls. The difference here is you get to see all of this in a tropical setting. If you are looking for a change in scenery and quite the adventure check out Cusuco National Park!
