My Story.. little country girl from Wisconsin
Howdy! I’m Kaelea, an outdoor enthusiast, and I’m excited to be a part of this community. I’m originally from central Wisconsin and currently reside in north Denver. I figured I’d share a little about myself.
I grew up living in the country so I’ve always had an appreciation for nature and yearned to be outside as much as possible. Four years ago, my fiance, Adam, I planned a trip to see my cousin in Washington. Little did I know, this visit sparked the adventurous desire I never knew I had. In the one week we were there we camped with elk and banana slugs in the Hoh Rainforest, kayaked the San Juan islands next to rogue killer whales, hiked Mount St. Helens only to glissade down on trash bags, and combed the tide pools of the Pacific beaches. When we returned back to WI, it wasn’t the same. Kayaking rivers and hiking hills just wasn’t enough.
Fast forward two years later. Adam and I quit our jobs, gave away our possessions, and traveled the western US for 3 months. Our goal was not only to cross off bucket-list items, but to find a new home to satisfy our craving for new adventure. In 15,000 miles of driving we hit 15 states, almost 20 national parks, and countless other hidden gems. The sights we’ve seen and the people we’ve met along the way are indescribable. Not to sound cliche, but it was truly the most liberating time of my life.
It’s been almost two years now since we’ve chosen to settle in Colorado. Since then we’ve amped up our outdoor recreation by learning to rock climb and conquer 14ers. If anyone’s in the Denver area and looking for adventure, feel free to hit me up. We love meeting new people and and sharing our appreciation for nature.
Thanks for reading.. now get outside! 🙂
